Believed Cause: Unknown

Initial Information: Initial call received stating there was a fire in the open. Following a further call, it was confirmed that a boat was involved in fire and cylinders could be seen exploding on board.

Updated Incident Information: 00:41 One canal boat well alight with an unknown amount of gas cylinders involved. The canal boat is located close to lock gates.
00:53 One canal boat well alight approximately 4 meters in front of lock gate. Light portable pump and ground monitor being got to work.
01:18 One canal boat still alight and light portable pump and one main jet in use. Technical Rescue crews are attempting to secure the boat to an anchor point.
01:53 Fire has now been extinguished and equipment still in use for damping down of any hot spots. The boat has been secured using anchor points and will be re-inspected in the morning.
