Damage: 30% by fire to ground floor of shop, 90% by smoke to ground floor of shop. 10% smoke damage to 1st and 2nd floor flats
Believed Cause: electrical fault in deep fat fryer
Initial Information: Retail unit involved in fire. Property is part of a mid-terraced property with flats above. Fire located in the retail unit and ducting on the ground floor. 2 BA 1 hosereel and 1 covering jet used. Forced entry made by Fire Service. 2 casualties treated by the Ambulance Service and taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary, one casualty suffering smoke inhalation and one casualty as a precautionary measure . Police also in attendance.
