Fire and Rescue Service Vehicles Attended: 1 from Ashby, 1 from Coalville, 1 from Swadlincote, 1 from Shepshed and aerial ladder platform from Birstall station.

Damage: 20% severe fire damage to 1st floor including access staircase to 2nd floor. Severe smoke to 1st and 2nd floor.

Believed Cause: Under Investigation

Initial Information: Called to reports of smoke issuing from first floor of commercial building.
Ground floor is used as a shop, 1st and 2nd floors used as offices. Fire located in first floor office. 1 person rescued by Fire Service using breathing apparatus. Being treated by paramedics and fire service.
2 hose reel jets and 4 breathing apparatus in use.

Updated Incident Information: 14:59 - fire now extinguished and damping down in progress, 4 breathing apparatus and hose reel jets still in use. Building currently being searched to rule out further casualties.
16:09 - all breathing apparatus now withdrawn, fire fully extinguished, building has been searched and no further casualties found. Property has been ventilated and incident now scaled down to 2 appliances. Fire investigation currently being carried out.
