Believed Cause: Deliberate by Persons Unknown

Initial Information: Initial calls to incident reported smoke issuing from roof of building, on arrival found to be 2 storey building involved in fire, fire located in kitchen area on 1st floor. 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and one covering jet in use.

Updated Incident Information: Nedham street closed at junction of upper charnwood street due to smoke, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and one covering jet now in use.
Assistance message received for attendance of aerial ladder platform and further 2 appliances.
08:49 - fire now believed to be extinguished, damping down in progress. 2 positive pressure ventilation fans now in use. Aerial ladder platform being used to investigate roof area.
09:55 - all internal firefighting suspended, aerial ladder platform being used to expose roof void involved in fire. 3 hose reel jets in use.
A Fire crew was in attendance until 19:00 this evening carrying out salvage work. Incident is now closed
