04:50 Main building fully involved in fire and a second building is now becoming involved in fire. Partial collapse of the main building has occurred. There are 12 cars which are fully involved in fire. One Aerial Ladder Platform now at work with 4 main and 2 compressed air foam jets in use and open water is being secured via the Grand Union Canal. Several other agencies are also in attendance.
05:25 Good progress is being made with firefighting and fire spread has been stopped. Fire Service crews are attempting to contain water run-off to prevent water from entering the canal.
06:03 The incident will shortly be scaled down. 3 main jets and 1 Aerial Ladder Platform in use for damping down.
08:13 3 Pump relief now in attendance. Hot spots being dampened down by aerial ladder platform crew. 2 main jets are on standby, incident commander is liaising with building inspector, electricity board are not being used due to potential building collapse, Police are in attendance sorting out site security, Fire Investigation will take place today.
08:53 - Aerial ladder platform still in use damping down hotspots, building inspectors are operating in sectors 1 and 3, crews liaising with local businesses for business continuity, building owner in attendance.
09:28 - Derbyshire fire investigation dog is working at scene, building inspector has setup physical cordon in court yard in sector 3, and also physical cordon in area of Aerial Ladder Platform due to unsafe building, Electricity and Gas Board unable to isolate services due to unsafe building. Fire Investigation now under way.
12:30 - Damping down and Fire Investigations continue. Electricity to property has now been isolated.
16:30 - Fire Service are still remaining in attendance at this incident with 1 x pump. Cause of fire is still under investigation and will re-commence tomorrow in conjunction with demolition crews.
