Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Several call received by Fire Control advising of a car on the A42 on fire.

On arrival, fire crews confirmed that a car was involved in fire just off the main carriageway, with the grass embankment also involved. Two breathing apparatus working in the open and a high pressure hose reel jet were in use.

The fire was extinguished and damping down of the car and embankment having taken place. The Highways Agency, who were also in attendance at the scene, were arranging recovery of the vehicle.
