Updated Incident Information: 1 car fully involved in fire, 2 hose reels and 2 BA working in the open, fire spread to grass embankment.
Southbound M1 is closed.
Stop at 13;43- Fire extinguished. Lane 3 of the motorway is now open.
Highways Agency and owner of the vehicle remaining with the vehicle.
Lane 1 of the motorway to remain closed until vehicle is recovered.
