Initial Information: Call received stating carbon monoxide alarm was sounding in the property
Updated Incident Information: On arrival crews requested attendance of the gas board due to the readings showing on the fire service gas monitors.
Adjoining properties were evacuated while the fire service and a Cadent gas engineer investigated.
The cause of the alarm was an Uunsi Burner used for incense (which uses charcoal), the fumes had caused the activation.
Fire crews and Cadent gas engineer educated the occupants on the use of these type of burners. They should not be used inside the home as the burning charcoal emits carbon monoxide.
