Damage: Fire damage limited to a bin and minor smoke damage to the basement
Believed Cause: Accidental - carelessly discarded incense stick
Initial Information: Call received stating smoke seen coming from the cellar.
On arrival, fire crews confirmed that all occupants had evacuated from the property and a small fire was located in the basement of the property. Two crew members in breathing apparatus entered and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Two positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke and ventilate the property and Belgrave Road was re-opened city bound.
Incident is to be revisited later today.
