Believed Cause:

Initial Information: A call was received from the Police to attend an address on Harewood Street in Leicester. Bricks were falling from a chimney onto the street below and a neighbours garden.

Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival, Fire Service crews requested the attendance of an Aerial Ladder platform and a council Building Inspector to assist.

A large section of a chimney breast had fallen onto the carriageway below and damaged some parked vehicles. A cordon was established.

Following the arrival of a Building Inspector, the chimney stack was assessed and required to be demolished. The road is to remain closed until this has taken place. Residents affected have evacuated to a family members house.
