Damage: 90% fire damage to building
Believed Cause: Believed deliberate ignition
Initial Information: Derelict care home consisting of 3 floors involved in fire, on arrival building found to be well alight. Compressed air foam system jets used to extinguish fire. Due to unsafe nature of the building defensive firefighting techniques were used - fighting fire externally.
Updated Incident Information: Damping down of hot spots continued until approx 11:00hrs, incident will be reinspected to confirm fire extinguished early afternoon.
21:00 Re-inspections now complete and incident closed.
