Damage: Excess smoke logging + approximately 20 square metres of floor boarding and joists damaged by fire.

Believed Cause: Deliberate

Initial Information: A COUPLE OF CALLS RECEIVED TO A POSSIBLE DERELICT BUILDING INVOLVED IN FIRE.
INITIALLY TWO APPLIANCES FROM EASTERN MOBILISED, ONCE IN ATTENDANCE STATED SMOKE IN THE AREA, INVESTIGATION IN PROGRESS.
ASSISTANCE MESSAGE FOR A FURTHER 2 APPLIANCES FOR MANPOWER AND WATER - DERELICT BUILDING INVOLVED IN FIRE.
THIS IS A DERELICT BUILDING INVOLVED CONSISTING OF 2 FLOORS, MEASURING 200 METRES BY 100 METRES AND NO LONGER USED, UNDER DEMOLITION.
FIRE LOCATED ON GROUND AND FIRST FLOOR.
2 BA IN USE, 1 HOSEREEL IN USE, SAFETY JET LAID OUT.
INCIDENT NOW SECTORISED - GOOD PROGRESS BEING MADE.

Updated Incident Information: 03:19 - Fire almost extinguished, damping down in progress. Positive Pressure Ventilation fans in use. 2 Breathing Apparatus, 1 hose reel and 1 jet in use for damping down purposes.
03:37 - All Breathing Apparatus withdrawn and positive pressure ventilation is complete. Cutting away of timber and damping down in progress.
03:56 - STOP Message - cutting away and damping down now complete. 2 appliances released form incident. 2 remaining appliances staying in attendance for approximately 30 minutes whilst making up of equipment and ensuring security of property. Incident to remain open for re-inspection at 08:00 hrs for liaison with owner.
Re-inspection carried out - Full search of premise carried out internally and externally using thermal imaging camera, there are no signs of hot spots or fire however due to several seats of fire this incident will require a re-inspection at 14:30 hours.
Further re-inspection has been carried out using thermal imaging camera, no signs of any hot spots and the incident can now be closed.
