Initial Information: 5 appliances have been at a derelict building involved in fire on Ratcliffe Road. Firefighters tackled a fire on the ground floor of the property, previously a halls of residence, but now derelict.
2 appliances were originally mobilised but assistance messages were passed increasing the turnout to 5.

After about an hour, crews confirmed the fire was extinguished, and were removing debris and damping down, 4breathing apparatus 2 hose reels were in use.
There were concerns that people may be sleeping rough within the premise but it was later confirmed that the building was empty and all persons were accounted for.

Breathing apparatus has been withdrawn.
At 21:35 1 appliance remains in attendance checking for hot spots
