Damage: Fire damage to washing machine and smoke damage to utility room

Believed Cause: Cause believed to be accidental due to electrical fault.

Initial Information: Call received from the occupier to a washing machine on fire. The caller was advised to evacuate the property.

On arrival, crews found ground floor smoke logged and 2 crew members wearing breathing apparatus were deployed under rapid deployment. The fire was extinguished and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the property. Crews removed the washing machine outside to cool.
