Initial Information: multiple calls received to a fire in the open near in the grounds of Marshall court, Northampton road Market Harborough. 1 appliance mobilised from Market Harborough fire station.
Updated Incident Information: on arrival crews confirmed 1 electrical substation fully involved in fire. Urgent attendance of the electricity board has been requested for isolation of substation. A request has been made for the assistance of a second fire appliance at this incident. Fire has spread to surrounding hedges, bushes and fences, Fire crews currently working to extinguish involved materials whilst avoiding the substation. 2 hose reels in use.
Western Power have now confirmed electrical substation has been isolated, 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 2 hose reel jets and 1 main jet in use to fight the fire.
local residents are being advised to keep windows closed to minimise smoke ingress
Fire has now been extinguished by breathing apparatus crews, damping down in progress. 2 breathing apparatus, 1 main jet in use, 1 monitor in use to cool oil from generator.
