Damage: 5% by fire to chest freezer full of food, minor smoke damage to outhouse of property where freezer was kept.

Believed Cause: Accidental - fault on control panel of chest freezer.

Initial Information: Call from neighbouring property, fire alarm sounding and smell of smoke.

Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival, assistance message received - make pumps 3.
Semi detached domestic property comprising of 2 floors involved in fire.
No persons present in property.
Fire extinguished using 2 BA and 1 HR and main property was ventilated due to smoke.
Fire was located in outhouse utility room of property.

Public Statement Issued: Ensure your property has at least 2 working smoke alarms and test your alarms weekly.
Working smoke alarms save lives.
Thankfully this property had smoke alarms which alerted the neighbor, without these being fitted then the consequences of this incident may have been much more serious.
