Believed Cause: Accidental caused by a chip pan.

Initial Information: Called to a kitchen fire in a domestic property on Chadwick Close in Newbold Verdon.
Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation in use.
Casualties conveyed to Leicester Royal Infirmary suffering from smoke inhalation.

Never leave your chip pan unattended
Ensure your chip pan is no more than 1/3 full of oil.
Consider purchasing an electric, thermostatically controlled chip fryer
Keep out of the reach of children
Do not cook under the influence of drugs or alcohol
In case of fire call 999, evacuate premises and stay out.
