Believed Cause:

Initial Information: A call from a member of the public advised of smoke issuing from a room inside the building.

The building consists of 7 floors and the fire was found on the 2nd floor. The building was evacuated and the Police were in attendance.

Updated Incident Information: Fire crews used 2 breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one covering jet. the fire was reported as extinguished at 16:03 and all breathing apparatus was withdrawn. A further investigation was carried out.

All fire service equipment was made up and residents were allowed to re-enter the building with the exception of the 2nd floor residents who would be allowed to enter shortly.

An alarm engineer had been contacted to attend.
