Updated Incident Information: Shortly after initial call 2nd call received confirming a fire situation at the premises, 5 appliances from City stations along with officers and a command support vehicle attended.
Upon arrival crews confirmed smoke logging to the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th floors.
A multi agency response to this incident took place and aided in the temporary evacuation of premises.
Crews determined fire to bin located on the ground floor within bin store area which had used the bin chute to cause smoke logging to the 16th floor and above. The fire was extinguished using 6 breathing apparatus, 2 main jets and 1 hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation fans used to clear property of smoke logging.
Crews then checked the property for any fire spread before allowing residents to re-enter the property under the supervision of Fire service personnel and council representatives.
Multi agency responders thank the residents for their patience and co-operation as as their good spirits during the incident.
