Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Call from a member of the public to a large bang and smoke seen coming from a flat on New Walk. Persons were still believed to be inside the flat and the caller also stated she could smell gas.
Appliances were mobilised and Police, EMAS and Cadent Gas were requested.
Two crew in breathing apparatus using one hose reel jet were in use, with two further crew members in breathing apparatus standing by.

Updated Incident Information: 10:49 - All persons accounted for. Gas and electricity to building has been isolated. Adjacent buildings have been evacuated. One casualty has self-presented to EMAS who are in attendance at the scene.
