Damage: 1 ton of rapeseed grain destroyed
Believed Cause: residual grain / dust from previous usage
Initial Information: call received from property stating smoke issuing from agricultural grain dryer
Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival
Incident confirmed as smoke issuing from grain dryer, 10 tonne of grain inside, 5 tonne already has been pumped out and efforts being made to continue to pump the rest of the grain out, short extension ladder in use and 1 hose reel jet laid out in case, signs of heat at rear of dryer, inspection of hatch to be conducted shortly.
14:44 - All grain removed from silo, fire extinguished and equipment isolated.
