Damage: Severe heat and smoke damage to kitchen, moderate fire damage to kitchen.

Believed Cause: Unattended chip pan

Initial Information: Call from occupier reporting a kitchen fire

Updated Incident Information: On arrival Incident Commander confirmed: Mid terraced property , consisting of 2 floors, fire in kitchen on ground floor. 1 hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus in use to extinguish the fire.
Positive Pressure Ventilation fan in use to clear smoke.
Stop message 23:34hrs - Fire extinguished, making up equipment in progress.

Public Statement Issued: Fire Service recommend that you never leave a chip pan unattended on your cooker.
Never take a battery out of a smoke alarm. A working smoke alarm will give you an early warning of any smoke in your house and save your life
