Damage: 25% severe to roof by fire

Believed Cause: radiated heat from chimney

Initial Information: Initial call from occupier after being alerted by passer by to smoke issuing from roof of property

Updated Incident Information: Fire crews on scene have confirmed smoke is issuing from roof and loft space of property, 2 Breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jet in use. Efforts being made to locate fire by removing roof tiles to gain better access.

00:30 - efforts still being made to extinguish the fire, due to complex construction of the roof cutting away of roof tiles and wood is still in progress. 2 Breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 x 9m ladder and Positive pressure ventilation fan in use.

02:25 - Fire now extinguished and final damping down in progress, fascia boards and wall plates have been removed, salvage sheets have been used until repairs are completed. 1 Hose reel, 1 x 9m ladder in use, thermal imaging camera used to check for hot spots.
crews have now left the scene, a re-inspection will be carried out during daylight hours.
