Damage: 5% smoke logging to front room

Believed Cause: Blocked Chimney not drawing smoke up from lit fire.

Initial Information: Call requesting Fire Service to smoke in property.

Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival, paper was involved in log burner which filled property with smoke. Fire service used chimney gear to extinguish fire in grate and also ventilated the property.

Public Statement Issued: It is vital you get your chimney swept, we recommend twice a year. Unfortunately this person hadn't had theirs swept prior to relighting it after Summer, however she was lucky on this occasion the fire only caused minimal damage. Please get your chimney swept.
