Damage: Severe fire damage to lounge and severe smoke damage to rest of property

Believed Cause: believed to be combustible materials too close to the open fire.

Initial Information: 1 single storey detached bungalow used as a private dwelling. Measuring approximately 10 metres by 15 metres. Fire is located in front living room area. 1 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet in use under rapid deployment.

Updated Incident Information: assistance message - 1 ambulance required to attend to a male casualty who has inhaled smoke.

11:32 - fire now extinguished and property being ventilated. Positive pressure ventilation system in use. 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel still in use.

11:52 - natural ventilation taking place. Breathing apparatus now withdrawn. Fire investigation and damping down in progress. Ambulance is in attendance.

12:13 stop message - fire investigation now complete. most probable cause is combustible materials too close to the open fire. One male casualty being conveyed to hospital by road ambulance. Cutting away and damping down in progress. Both appliances still committed
