Damage: Light smoke damage to ground and first floor of house. 1 pan severe by smoke and fire.

Believed Cause: Unattended pan on hob

Initial Information: Call received to pan on fire in the kitchen. On arrival crews entered the property using 2BA, 1HR and a dry powder extinguisher. An ambulance was requested to treat 2 casualties who were suffering from severe smoke inhalation.

Updated Incident Information: Fire inside the property was extinguished before arrival of Fire Service although property is heavily smoke logged. Positive pressure ventilation fan is in use. Casualties being treated by Fire Service awaiting arrival of ambulance.
Property fully cleared of smoke by fire service. Total of 3 casualties assessed by East Midlands Ambulance Service and discharged on scene with no further treatment required. Post incident response and home fire safety check carried out.
Fire Crews administering oxygen to one parrot who has been affected by the smoke from the incident.
