Fire and Rescue Service Vehicles Attended: One appliance from Melton Mowbray station, one appliance from Western station and two Technical Rescue appliances from Southern station.

Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Call received stating one cow stuck in a river.

Updated Incident Information: 16:26 Technical Rescue crews have been committed to the water to assist the cow, whilst other Fire Service personnel are preparing equipment.
A securing line had been attached to the cow prior to Fire Service arrival.

16:59 Fire Service operations are still taking place and crews are still committed to water course. The cow has now been moved to the bank and the farmer has now called for a vet to be present.

17:17 Fire Service operations are still taking place to assist the cow up the embankment by mechanical means following receipt of consent by the farmer. Fire Service personnel have advised the farmer that the cow will need to be checked by a vet once released from the river.

17:42 - Vet has now assessed the Cow, removed from river and will be taken back to Farm, incident left with Farmer.
17:43 - Stop message - cow now removed from the river, vet has assessed the cow and cow is being taken back to the farm.
