Believed Cause: Cause believed to be an electrical fault from the battery
Initial Information: Call received to a 7.5 tonne lorry involved in fire which was believed out but smoke still issuing. One appliance from Eastern station initially mobilised.
Updated Incident Information: 00:56 - On arrival crew passed an assistance message to make pumps 2 for personnel, request the attendance of an ALP and request the police for road closure due to smoke. 1 7.5 tonne lorry involved in fire
01:12 - 1 x 7.5 tonne van involved in fire. fire is located in haulage compartment which is fully loaded with metal chairs. 4 BA, 2 main jets and 2 HR jets in use
01:30 - 2 BA are working in the back of the van damping down and removing metal chairs. Initial 2 BA have been withdrawn. 2 main jets and 2 HR jets laid out
01:56 - STOP MESSAGE - Fire in rear of luton style van has been extinguished and all contents have been removed. BA has been withdrawn. 1 HR jet remains out for damping down.
