Initial Information: Call received from the Police to a RTC on the M1 motorway involving 1 HGV and several cars. On arrival Fire Service confirmed that there were multiple vehicles involved in RTC with 1 person trapped, extrication taking place by Fire service

Updated Incident Information: 00:34 - All three lanes of the motorway northbound closed between junction 22 and junction 23. 6 cars and 1 light goods vehicle involved in RTC. 1 person trapped and multiple walking wounded

00:46 - STOP - 1 casualty has now been extricated from vehicle. there are 2 walking wounded. All casualties are being treated by EMAS. All vehicles being made safe and equipment being made up. Lanes 2 and 3 of the southbound carriageway have now been closed.
