Approx 1000 tonnes of wood chippings involved in fire and endangering a silage pile covered in tyres and also a dutch barn.
1 main water jet in use to fight the fire. Farm workers assisting fire crew by removing unburnt wood chippings from the pile to prevent the fire spreading.
Water from the nearby river Sence being pumped to the incident using a light portable pump.
2 lorries also involved in fire, 2 jets in use and farm workers continuing to remove unburnt chippings. electrical boxes consumer boxes overheating, Western Power attending.
2 fire engines remain on site dealing with the fire.
Confirmation from Western Power that electrical main supply to main buildings has been isolated.
All machinery has been removed until the morning. Fire being allowed to burn under control, hose reel and jet laid out in case of fire spread.
Stop Message received remaining hotspots have been extinguished. No further inspections required by the Fire Service.
