Believed Cause:

Initial Information: The call into Fire Control, originated from East Midlands Ambulance Service, advising of a road traffic collision involving a single car, which had hit a central reservation, rolled over and had come to a stop in a ditch. It was thought that the occupier was trapped inside the vehicle. The Police were informed following receipt of the call.

On arrival, Fire crews confirmed that a vehicle had left the carriageway, was on its side in a steep ditch and the female occupant was trapped inside.

The car was stabilised prior to the extrication of the casualty using E-Draulic cutters and spreaders. The casualty was released from the car and was treated by an ambulance at the scene.
