Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Call from the ambulance service to a RTC on the A1 involving an HGV a car and a van.

Updated Incident Information: 1 male casualty is physically trapped in the van which has gone under the HGV. Police, air ambulance and EMAS are in attendance. Police have closed the carriageways to allow access for the air ambulance.

Access was gained to the driver of the van using E-Draulic saws and Hilti impact wrench.

Casualty was left in the care of EMAS and is being transported to hospital via air ambulance.

Fire crews are now making the vahicles safe.
