Believed Cause:

Initial Information: The initial call came from East Midlands Ambulance Service and advised that a car was on its side with one female trapped inside. They also advised that there was lots of ice on the road.

Updated Incident Information: One Ford Fiesta car had been involved in a road traffic collision and one on its side, embedded in a hedge.
Crews stabilised the vehicle using Stabfast. The female casualty was inside the vehicle, but was conscious and stated she had no injuries. Crews attempted an initial extrication through the front windscreen.

Female occupant self-extricated the vehicle with the assistance of the Fire Service and received a precautionary check by East Midlands Ambulance Service personnel.
The vehicle was made safe and the road remains closed at this time.
