Initial Information: The call was received from the Police advising that there had been a road traffic collision with two cars involved. One vehicle had hit a tree and the tree had fallen into the road. An electric pole was also involved and it was believed that live cables were exposed.

Updated Incident Information: 21:03 Urgent attendance of Western Power was requested as live cables were on the carriageway. Crews were assessing the scene using a thermal image camera.
21:11 Road traffic collision involving one vehicle. One casualty was being treated by an on scene Air Ambulance Critical Doctor. The carriageway was closed in both directions. The police and ambulance were in attendance and one casualty was conveyed to the Queens Medical Centre by road ambulance.
21:53 Western Power and the Police discussed the required repairs and advised that the A447 would remained closed for a considerable length of time. The vehicle was left in situ to assist with the police investigation and all equipment was made up.
