The driver was not trapped and received first aid from the Fire Service.
There was a diesel leak from the vehicle, this was approximated at 300 litres. Crews worked to stem the leak and prevent any fuel leaving the carriageway and affecting a nearby watercourse.
Liaison with the Environment Agency as well as Highways Agency and Police have taken place to ensure the best course of action to reopen the carriageway but it is likely that the Northbound carriageway will remain closed for several hours for clean up and resurfacing.
