Believed Cause: Accidental: Carelessly discarded smoking materials.
Initial Information: Fire Control received a number of calls reporting smoke in the area of Watkin Road, the bridge near the canal and the rear of the King Power Stadium. Crews have confirmed that they have located a fire involving rubbish measuring 4m x 4m on the footpath near the canal off Marylebone Place underneath the disused railway bridge, this is being extinguished using one main jet.
Updated Incident Information: The fire has now been extinguished, damping down in still in progress using one main jet whilst turning over the debris, thank you for all of your calls reporting the fire.
