Initial Information: Call received to a field of standing corn involved in fire.

Updated Incident Information: Standing corn involved in fire. 1 extended hose reel in use.

Approximately 1000 square metres of standing. 4 hose reel jets and beaters are in use. The farmer used a tractor and plough to create a fire break in the field and ploughed the remainder of the material where safe to do so.

Fire now extinguised. Hose reel jets in use to damp down hot spots in the hedgerow. Farmers tractor in use to plough over burnt stubble.
