Believed Cause:

Initial Information: The initial call received by Fire Control advised of a field of standing crop involved in fire and caller ended the call. Three appliances were initially mobilised. When caller recontacted, the caller indicated that there was farm machinery involved and the fire was quickly spreading to a full kennels and it was not safe to evacuate the animals.

Crews who were first in attendance at the scene, quickly requested a further two appliances for personnel and confirmed that, one car, one bailer and approximately 200 square meters of field were involved in fire. Two hose reel jets were in use.

Updated Incident Information: 18:29 Fire crews have prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby kennels and farm machinery was being got to work to create a fire break.

18:54 Fire now extinguished and remaining hot spots were being dampened down. Three hose reels, 1 main jet, beaters and drag forks were in use.
