Damage: Approx 250 bales of straw destroyed by fire
Believed Cause: Accidental - Spontaneous combustion of organic material
Initial Information: Call from member of the public to a stack fire in a field
Updated Incident Information: Incident Commander confirmed a stack of straw bales involved in fire, farmer using Manatou to remove unburnt bales to make a fire break. Livestock in the field not effected by the fire.
Fire crews using 1 water hose reel to damp down flying embers.
Farmer cleared unburnt bales away from stack into nearby field and incident being left under the supervision of the farmer
