Initial Information: Multiple calls were received by Fire Control to a van on fire around the Okehampton Avenue area of Leicester.

On arrival, fire crews confirmed one van was found to be fully involved in fire and was situated next to an electricity substation. Western Power were advised and the Police were also requested to attend. Two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one covering jet were in use.

Updated Incident Information: The fire was fully extinguished and two adjacent garages to the vehicle have been investigated and no fire spread was found.
The security of the garages and the vehicle were handed over to the Police, who were in attendance.
Western Power were at the scene and found that there was no damage to the transformer, only damage to the security fence surrounding it, which they took responsibility for.
