Believed Cause:

Initial Information: The call came from East Midlands Ambulance Service, advising us that following a single vehicle road traffic collision, the car had become involved in fire. A Paramedic was already on the scene.

Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival, fire crews reported that one car, which had been involved in a road traffic collision with a tree and roadside furniture, had a small fire on the dashboard. This had attempted to be extinguished by members of the public. One hose reel jet was in use and the vehicle was made safe. An investigation of the dashboard was carried out.

The fire was located in the wiring loom of the dashboard and extinguished. The casualty was treated by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
