Believed Cause: Cause - accidental.

Damage - ground floor 100% and second floor 70% by flame and heat, top floor light smoke

Initial Information: Initial Emergency call received to a deep fat fryer involved in fire at a property on Welford road. 2 fire appliances from Central station were mobilised following the initial emergency call.

Updated Incident Information: On arrival crews confirmed ground floor of property was well alight. property consisting of 2 floors, ground floor of property is used as a takeaway unit and first floor is used as living accommodation. Property measures 6m by 10m, Fire is located in deep fat fryers on ground floor of property . 2 Breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets in use.

16:48 - fire on ground floor has now been extinguished, 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets remain in use. Breathing apparatus team are currently in the process of checking the rest of the property for any fire spread and carrying out ventilation.

17:11 - Breathing apparatus team are currently dealing with fire spread on the first floor of the property, 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets in use.

17:20 - ASSISTANCE MESSAGE - request assistance of an Aerial ladder platform at this incident for management of roof tiles.
17:25 - ASSISTANCE MESSAGE - make pumps 3

18:08 - All breathing apparatus has now been withdrawn from this incident. Aerial ladder platform is being got to work to gain access to roof space for fire fighting purposes. adjacent property is being inspected with the use of a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread.

18:48 - Aerial ladder platform continuing to remove roof tiles to access hot spots in roof space. 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet in use. Breathing apparatus team are within the property on the first floor. Breathing apparatus team are fighting hotspots in this area. A building inspector has been requested and is on route to this incident.

20:30 - fire investigation team are in attendance for investigations, Aerial ladder platform is continuing to cut away and damp down. 1 hose reel also in use on the first floor for damping down.

22:15 - Aerial ladder platform is being got to work to remove smouldering materials from roof space and cover roof with salvage sheets, fire crews continuing with cutting away and damping down.

23:20 - All visible hot spots have been knocked down Aerial ladder platform in the roof void area. internal hot spots have been knocked down using hose reel. thermal imaging camera is being used internally and externally. incident handover is being completed with responsible person,

08:00 - Re-inspection carried out.

20:00 - Re-inspection carried out - no hot spots, incident can be closed.
