Training Exercise Planned at Quorn Railway Station on Tuesday 29 April

Tomorrow (Tuesday 29 April 2025) we are carrying out a joint training exercise at Quorn and Woodhouse Railway Station, part of the Great Central Railway. This planned exercise is vital to make sure we remain prepared for potential emergencies.

Our training exercise will run from 09:00 to 13:00. This is a controlled and carefully planned event with East Midlands Ambulance Service, Rail Accident Investigation Branch and other partners, with no fire, gas release, or hazards to the public.

There may be an increase to traffic in the local area around Quorn during the exercise. Local residents and businesses are advised that this is a planned event, and there is no cause for concern.

Quorn and Woodhouse Railway Station will be open for business as usual, although there are no planned train services on the day and the exercise itself will be off-limits to the public. We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation during this exercise.

Simon Holden, Area Manager Response for LFRS, said; "Exercises like this are vital to make sure we remain prepared for potential emergencies. By working with partnership agencies in a realistic scenario we can all refine our response plans and ensure the safety of our communities."
