Initial Information: Call received from a member of the public reporting a Muntjac deer trapped in railings within the city area.

Updated Incident Information: On arrival crews saw that a Muntjac deer was trapped in railings unable to get out.
Animal covered with a ground sheet to calm it before the fire crew used hydraulic spreaders to cut the railings and free the animal.
The deer suffered cuts to both its rear legs and the RSPCA was requested to attend.
Fire crew kept the animal wrapped and safe in the ground sheet until the RSPCA arrived, they assessed the animal to be fit enough to be released.
No further action by fire crew.
