What you need to know
To be eligible to apply for one of our On-Call Firefighter roles, you must meet the essential requirements below:
- You must live or work within four minutes of the stations listed below, with the exception of Billesdon and Market Bosworth Fire and Rescue Stations, which are six minutes.
- Be 18 years or older by the commencement of the On-Call firefighter training course.
- Be prepared to undertake a standard Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.

During training, you will not work more than 24 hours per week and will not attend emergency incidents.
Holidays
You will receive 28 days' annual leave, rising to 35 days after five years' continuous service, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
Pensions
All employees will be automatically placed into the Firefighters Pension Scheme on appointment where the appointment is to last more than three months.
Employees can opt out of the scheme if they wish, by contacting the pension provider after they have completed one month in employment.
