Initial Information: Call from person in vehicle stuck in flood water.

Updated Incident Information: Upon arrival incident confirmed as 1 person stranded in vehicle in flood water.
2 x Fire Service Water Rescue Team personnel rescued person from stranded vehicle using inflatable sled.

Public Statement Issued: Please don't drive into flood water, it's difficult to tell how deep water is, air intakes are often very low on the average vehicle and water can easily destroy an engine leading to costly repair bills. Also by driving into flood water you are putting yourself and others at risk. Please take notice of road closure signs, and if you come across a flooded road where there are already stranded vehicles, then don't attempt to drive through, there's a reason why vehicles have become stranded, instead find a safer alternative route.
