Initial Information: Chimney fire , believed to be caused by debris falling down chimney. Fire Service removed gas fire from fire place to enable access.
STOP confirmed, buckets of debris and birds nest removed from chimney. Fire extinguished.

Public Statement Issued: As it turns colder during the winter months and gas/coal fires, central heating systems, etc are being turned on/ignited, stay safe in you home.
Make sure your boiler is serviced and your chimneys checked and swept in order to prevent any safety issues
