Updated Incident Information: Leicestershire Fire and rescue service have extricated 1 female casualty from a single car accident on Bruntingthorpe road, Peatling parva after car left the road and collided with a tree. The initial call to the fire service was received just before 7am this morning. Fire crews from Wigston and Lutterworth were quickly on scene. Fire fighters used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car to enable the extrication of the trapped casualty. Casualty was successfully removed from the car and is now in the care of East Midlands Ambulance service, casualty has been taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Public Statement Issued: Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service would like to remind the public to drive safely taking into account the current road conditions, with winter approaching road conditions can become hazardous very quickly.
