Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Call received to a vehicle collision on the M1 North J23 - J23a.

Upon arrival this was confirmed as a 2 x vehicle RTC. Lanes 2 and 3 are affected and have been closed off and one person is reported to still be inside the vehicle. Fire Service and Highways in attendance

Updated Incident Information: 16:15: Fire Crews have formulated a plan to extricate casualty from vehicle. Lanes 2 & 3 are still closed on the Motorway and this is causing severe congestion on the Southbound carriageway. Police, Fire, Ambulance and Highways all now in attendance.
16:42: Paramedic has assessed casualty in car and a paramedic and Fire Service preparing for extrication.
17:04 - STOP: One casualty now released from vehicle and being conveyed to hospital.
