Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Call from Police requesting Fire Service assistance due to reports of a male stuck in vehicle in floor water. Water above wheels and still rising.

Updated Incident Information: One car stuck in flood water with 1 male occupant inside. Technical Rescue team assessing situation and assisted occupant to dry land.

Public Statement Issued: Please don't drive into flood water, it's difficult to tell how deep water is, air intakes are often very low on the average vehicle and water can easily destroy an engine leading to costly repair bills. Also by driving into flood water you are putting yourself and others at risk. Please take notice of road closure signs, and if you come across a flooded road where there are already stranded vehicles, then don't attempt to drive through, there's a reason why vehicles have become stranded, instead find a safer alternative route.
